The
James Joyce Centre North Great George's St
Housed
in a beautifully restored Georgian townhouse and run by members
of his family, the Centre offers the visitor a more personal insight
into the world in which he lived, and celebrates not only his literary
greatness, but the humanity of the man who won international acclaim
by making this, his beloved city, the very source of his inspiration.
The Centre hosts an ongoing series of events, from Readings and
Writer's Groups to related Film and Literary debates. Forthcoming
events are listed in the centre's newsletter and check out www.jamesjoyce.ie
for further details.
The
centre traces the life of James Joyce from his early days. There
are bus trips around Dublin showing the sights mentioned in Ulysses.
And, of course, there is a huge hooley on Bloomsday, 16th June,
when you can pig out on the Joyce vibe.
