PARENTS, staff and the children of Presentation Primary Warrenmount, in Blackpitts in the Liberties said a sad goodbye to their dearest lollipop lady of 36 years recently.

May Bridgeman has worked in the school since 1983 and ensured that thousands of children made it safely to school, with smiles on their faces, every day.

May retired as the longest serving lollipop lady in Dublin and a lovely celebration in her honour was organised by the staff and children of Warrenmount.

Former colleagues, parents, friends, family and staff members celebrated with refreshments, followed by a spectacular show by the children who serenaded May with wonderful singing.

Many people offered words of thanks and the Principal read a poem dedicated to May and her time spent in Warrenmount.

The school community wished May a long and happy retirement.

She will be sorely missed by all at the school.
