Aileen Eglinton, President of Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Chamber, with award-winner, Pat McCann, CEO Dalata Hotel Group.

THE Dún Laoghaire Rathdown Chamber announced the results of their third annual Business Awards last week.

The award winners were revealed at a Gala Dinner at the Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel, Killiney, that was hosted by MC Alan Shortt, with Minister for Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Josepha Madigan, as special guest. 

Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council is the main sponsor and supporters of the DLR County Business Awards.

Cllr Shay Brennan, cathaoirleach, who officiated at the awards, said: "The council is committed to supporting the development of local businesses and welcomes this DLR County Business Award as an ongoing initiative in the county.”

Aileen Eglington, President DLR Chamber, added: “Dún Laoghaire Rathdown is a vibrant, progressive county and is predicting huge growth in employment in the years ahead.

“DLR Chamber, as the voice of business in the county and a voluntary business organisation, is proud to continue to organise and promote these awards.

“And for that we thank all our sponsors and corporate members as well as the myriad of businesses, large and small, that entered.”

There were 12 awards announced – together with the prestigious DLR Chamber Business Leader of the County Award – which this year has gone to Pat McCann, CEO Dalata Hotel Group.

Pat founded Dalata Hotel Group Ltd in February 2007. Pat has also just been appointed President of IBEC. 

Best Business Start Up Award went to Reuzi while Best Small Business Award went to Naomi’s Kitchen.

Best Professional Service Award winner was RBK Accountants and Green Business Environment Award (over 50 employees) went to Dundrum Town Centre.

The under 50 employees winner was Dun Laoghaire Marine.

Innovation in Business Award winner was Osbourne Recruitment while the Corporate Social Responsibility Award winner was Airfield.

Best Family-Owned Business winner was FX Buckley and Small Retailer of the Year Winner was Composite Doors and Windows.

Best Not-For-Profit business Winner was National Council for the Blind.

Best Place to Eat in the County Award Winner (Casual Dining) was The Graduate Pub and the Winner Fine Dining was Fitzpatrick Hotel – Mapas Restaurant.

Customer Service Award – Tourism Winner was the Royal Marine Hotel and Customer Service – Hospitality Winner was Serenity Day Spa.

DLR Chamber is celebrating 70 years in 2019 and is one of the oldest in Ireland. It is affiliated to Chambers Ireland and represents the full county area.
