DUN Laoghaire Rathdown County Council has granted planning permission for the construction of a further 146 apartments at the Cherrywood Town Centre in South County Dublin.

These are the latest residential units within the Cherrywood strategic development zone (SDZ) to be granted planning permission, in addition to the 1,269 apartments already under construction at Cherrywood Town Centre.

Situated at the junction of Bishops Street and Tullyvale Road, approximately one minute walk from Cherrywood Town Centre and the new Tully Park, the 15,909 sqm TC5 development consists of four blocks of one, two and three bed four-storey apartments.

Featuring high quality design throughout, the development includes parking spaces for 189 cars and 166 bicycles.

Developers Hines said the TC5 apartments will incorporate energy efficiency and smart design standards that will provide the very best in modern living.

Brian Moran, Hines Senior Managing Director, said: “This is further good progress for the new town of Cherrywood as we start to see additional aspects of the SDZ masterplan now starting to unfold.

“The TC5 apartments at Cherrywood have been designed to set the standard for future urban design in Ireland.

“With quality public transport and excellent recreation facilities already in situ, people living here will also have access to the best residential amenities available in Ireland.”

Located between Cabinteely and Loughlinstown in South County Dublin, Cherrywood is the largest single urban development project in Ireland and will eventually be home to a population of approximately 25,000 people.

Hines say that with flagship parks, a state-of-the art all-weather multi-purpose pitch, tennis courts, a sports pavilion and 5.4 kilometres of roadways, footpaths, and greenways and over 3,000 trees, Cherrywood already features all the elements necessary for a dynamic community.
