Soccer stars on the bill for exciting charity game

Former Man Utd legend Paul Scholes will be lining up for Bray battle.

PAUL Scholes and Stiliyan Petrov are among the impressive line-up of football legends who will play at Bray’s Carlisle Grounds in aid of Wicklow Hospice on Saturday, September 15.

Other stars confirmed include former United players Keith Gillespie, Brian McClair, Jose Kleberson and Clayton Blackmore. Meanwhile, Stiliyan Petrov will be joined by fellow Celtic greats Lubo Moravcik and Tom Boyd while Alan Kennedy and John Wark will fly the flag for the Liverpool supporters.

The star-studded team will play against Wicklow Hospice Select Teams, who are set to put the English and Scottish club legends through their paces.

Bray Wanderers’ legends including Colm Tresson, Kevin O’Connor and Matt Britton will be among the local line-up along with Gary Messett, Captain of the Irish CP team, who have just won European Championships Bronze in the Netherlands.

They will be supported by some of Wicklow’s finest (and bravest!) footballers from amateur clubs including six warriors from The Garden County Over 35’s Football Club.

Tickets for the game are €10 each. To buy tickets go to: www.gr8events.ie. Limited tickets at €60 are also available for a meet-and-great in Bray's Martello venue a little while before the 3pm kick-off. (Tickets for this event are limited).
