Awards are just the business

THE Dún Laoghaire Rathdown Chamber of Commerce has set the date for their first County Business Awards for DLR as a county area within Dublin.

A Gala Awards Dinner will take place on Thursday, September 28, at the Royal Marine Hotel, Dún Laoghaire, to mark the occasion.

Pat Neill, President DLR Chamber, said: “We are delighted with the number of entries received for our DLR Chamber County Business Awards.

“These entries range from small enterprise to large corporate businesses in the county.

“As a not-for-profit organisation, this work and the organisation and funding of these awards would not be possible without the support of our sponsors and our corporate members.

“And we would like to pay tribute to all of them.”

The main supporter of the inaugural DLR Chamber County Business Awards 2017 is Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council.

Other sponsors include Royal Marine Hotel, Dún Laoghaire, Lansdowne Partnership, Allied Irish Banks, Microsoft, Synergy 365, and Commscope.

As the main supporter of this event, the cathaoirleach of Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council, Cllr Tom Murphy, said: “The council continues to be committed to supporting the development of local businesses in the county and welcomes the first ever County Business Awards in dlr.”

The award winners will be announced and presented at the Gala Dinner at the Royal Marine Hotel, Dún Laoghaire that will be hosted by MC Alan Shortt.

A place at this black-tie Gala Dinner will cost €85. Tables are available to book by calling Gabby Mallon in DLR Chamber on 01 2845066, or email

DLR Chamber will be celebrating 80 years in 2019 and the fact that it is one of the oldest chambers in Ireland.

It is affiliated to Chambers Ireland and represents the full county area.

DLR Chamber consists of a  very strong, diverse and gender-balanced board, a fact that the members are particularly proud of.

Following 10 years of organising the very successful EnviroCom Awards, DLR Chamber felt that their awards needed to be more all-embracing to businesses in the county to celebrate the strength of the very diverse business community in Dún Laoghaire Rathdown.
