Thousands of extras sought for 'Vikings' spin-off series

'Vikings' was filmed in Ireland.

Thousands of extras are needed for a spin-off style series of the hit TV show ‘Vikings’, which will soon commence filming in the Dublin and Wicklow areas.

‘Vikings: Valhalla’, which is being made by Netflix, begins in the year 1002 and follows the adventures and conflicts of Leif Eriksen, Freydis, Harald Hardrada and the Norman King, William the Conqueror.

The makers are looking to employ thousands of film extras for huge crowd and battle scenes in the coming months. They will hold two open casting days in Dublin and Wicklow in the next few weeks and are hoping to attract as many people as possible for the auditions.

This will be paid work and the casting days are open to adults from all ethnic backgrounds and nationalities that have PPS numbers and are over the age of 18.

The Dublin casting day will be held at Liberty Hall Theatre, Eden Quay, on Monday, March 16, between 10am and 6pm.

Filming is due to begin in April.
