Cyclists’ charity event a big success

GREAT SUCCESS: Members of Millmount Wheelers Cycling Club with the cheque.

EVERY year members of Drumcondra-based Millmount Wheelers Cycling Club do a benefit cycle for charity.

On August 31 they held a 50k cycle around north county Dublin for Ataxia Foundation Ireland.

Also, for the first year they included a 10k walk for the non-cyclists which proved to be very popular. Fran Ryan of Millmount Wheelers said: “That evening, when we had all recovered, a bumper raffle took place in the Millmount House in Drumcondra.

“On offer were lots of super prizes that were donated by local businesses.

“We had plenty of sponsors present on the night including our annual sponsor Francis Brophy & Company Chartered Accountants. We would like to give a big shout to all our sponsors, cyclists, walkers and helpers on the day and night.

“It proved to be our most successful cycle to date with a whopping €10,160.14 raised for Ataxia Foundation Ireland. Well done to all.”
