THE finalists in this year’s Pramerica Spirit of Community Awards will be announced this week.

The awards shine a light on the commitment and dedication of young people’s volunteering efforts across Ireland, recognising those who are making their communities a better place to live while inspiring others to take action.

The awards celebrate youth volunteers who are passionate about a range of topics including homelessness, mental health, disabled rights, animal cruelty, caring for the young and the elderly.

Niall Gosson, from Rush, a previous finalist, paid a visit to the Lord Mayor of Dublin Paul McAuliffe to pledge his support to the awards programme and the many young volunteers who are donating their time to those less fortunate.
