Ireland Angling Show a great catch for Swords

THERE is no better way to kick off the angling season than your annual visit to the Ireland Angling Show at the National Show Centre in Swords which takes place on February 15 and 16.

‘Hooked on Fishing’ presenter and host Paul Young will be joining the team and available to share his knowledge and advise on tackle on the Ardaire springs stand along with Paul Proctor and Scott Mackenzie.

Angling journalist, AAPGAI Master and Vice President of the WTT, Paul Procter, has over 40 years’ experience on rivers, stillwaters and tropical saltwater fishing.

The hugely popular Crafty Catcher fishing game will once again be taking place in the Family Zone. Sponsored by Sensas Ireland and Daiwa UK, there will be prizes for all participants regardless of age or ability.

On both the Saturday and Sunday, the former World Pairs Champions and Feeder Masters finalists Philip Jackson and Cathal Hughes will be centre stage.

Inland Fisheries and Angling Ireland will be hosting the Family Zone with a team available to educate and encourage kids to pick up a rod and try their hand at fishing.

Stock up on your gear or invest in that new rod you have had your eye on, with tackle dealers from around the country.

This year has seen a growth in the boat market so if you wish to upgrade or invest in your first angling boat, the show will have something for every budget with brands such as Warrior Boats, Rebelcell, Scotty, Lund, Tangiri, Lowrance, Ray Marine and Fun’yak all represented.
