CASTLEKNOCK man Tom Dunphy recently achieved the extremely rare feat of kayaking the full length of the Liffey, from its source in Sally Gap to where it meets the sea at Poolbeg - a staggering distance of 125km!

On his YouTube channel, Tom said: It was a spectacular way to see this beautiful river and countryside as it changes along its course and to see the effects that development and people have had on it."

The daunting challenge took him 16 hours and 34 minutes to complete.

You can check out the video of his amazing achievement on YouTube (Tdunphy85).

Tom’s adventure began at the Source of the Liffey at Sally Gap.
