FINGAL County Council has announced that Duo Chagall, who have run the popular classical music series ‘Autumn Sounds’ in Farmleigh since 2010, will this year play in four different venues around Fingal.

Along with the Fingal Ensemble, they will perform at the Grand Hotel in Malahide, Ardgillan Castle, Draíocht and Farmleigh House in the Phoenix Park during September.

Duo Chagall features the celebrated partnership of Fingal-born violinist Gillian Williams and French cellist Arun Rao. The Fingal Ensemble is a sensational 16-piece string orchestra which was officially launched in March.

Gillian will lead the Ensemble in Vivaldi’s famous Four Seasons in Malahide and Draíocht, while the performances at Ardgillan Castle and Farmleigh will feature the Italian guitarist Marco Ramelli, Gillian and Arun along with other guests in chamber music of a distinctly Latin flavour.

The event in the Grand Hotel Malahide takes place on Saturday, September 7 at 8.30pm, while the event in Ardgillan Castle takes place at 4pm on Sunday, September 8. You can pay at the door for both of these performances and tickets cost €10 each. Pre-booking is required for the events in Draíocht and Farmleigh.

Tickets for the performance at Draíocht on Thursday, September 12 at 7.30pm can be booked online at www.draiocht.ie/events/category/music, while tickets for the performance at Farmleigh on Friday, September 13 at 8pm can be booked at www.farmleigh.ie/autumnsounds. ;

These events are sure to be popular so book now to avoid disappointment.

The Fingal Arts Office is supporting Autumn Sounds. Deputy Arts Officer for Fingal County Council, Sarah O’Neill, said they were delighted that this popular classic music series is now moving around the county.

“It is important for us to make sure that Fingal residents have access to art and culture and bringing Autumn Sounds to Blanchardstown, Malahide and Ardgillan as well as its traditional home in Farmleigh is a positive move that will give more people an opportunity to hear these accomplished musicians,” said Ms
