Fingal County Council has lifted the temporary advisory notice in relation to swimming at Front Strand Beach in Balbriggan.

The notice had been erected due to suspected impacts from animals/birds or contaminated surface water catchment runoff.

Further testing took place on Tuesday August and the results of laboratory analysis were excellent, the council confirmed today.

Members of the public intending to enter the water at any beach in Ireland are advised to check the water quality in advance by accessing the EPA website at www.beaches.ie or by checking the local noticeboard.
