Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a serious road traffic collision on the R132 in Swords this morning.

The incident occured on the northbound section of the road, close to Pavilions Shopping Centre roundabout, at approximately 9am.

A 22-year-old female pedestrian sustained serious injuries when she was involved in a collision with a car and was taken to Beaumont Hospital with serious head injuries. The driver of the car was not injured.

The road remains closed pending a full forensic examination.

Witnesses are asked to contact Swords Garda Station on 01-666 4700 or the Garda Confidential line on 1800 666111. In particular, gardaí are seeking drivers or cyclists with dashcams or Go Pros to contact them.
