FINGAL Dublin Chamber has announced the appointment of Jock Jordan as its new President.

Mr Jordan, Group Sales Director at One4all Gift Cards, takes over from Guy Thompson.

Mr Jordan said: “It is a great honour to become President of Fingal Dublin Chamber of Commerce, representing the business voice for the region.

“One4all Gift Cards has been a member of the Chamber since 2003 so we are acutely aware of its importance to our business and the wider community.

“I want to thank Guy Thompson for his personal commitment, dedication and service to the Chamber over the past two years.

“I am looking forward to working closely with Chamber chief executive Anthony Cooney to further strengthen our business voice in the region through increased membership and consolidation with other business groups.”

Mr Jordan is married to Aedeen. They have two adult children and live in Rogerstown, Rush.  He is a member of Rush Community First Responders and a member of St John Ambulance.

“With serious issues such as Brexit and Metro North on our horizon and the continued importance of Dublin Airport and its economic impact for the region, it is imperative we have a strong and growing Chamber,” he added.

Outgoing President Guy Thompson said he was delighted to represent the Chamber for the past two years.

“It has been a great privilege and a wonderful experience to represent businesses in Fingal,” said Mr Thompson.

“I was particularly pleased to be part of the British Ambassador’s visit to Fingal and the Taiwan Ambassador’s business breakfast last year.

“I want to pay tribute to the Chamber Board of Directors, chief executive, Council Members and Chamber staff who are so committed and passionate in growing and developing the Chamber.

“Finally, I wish Jock every success during his time as President. He is a highly respected member of the Chamber with excellent business acumen and he is a fitting President.”

Anthony Cooney added that he is looking forward to working with the new President in implementing Fingal Dublin Chamber of Commerce’s  strategy for the coming year.
