Local community centre nominated for two awards

Donabate Portrane Community & Leisure Centre has been nominated for two awards.

A NORTHSIDE community centre has been nominated for two awards in a national competition.

Donabate Portrane Community & Leisure Centre (DPCC) will fly the flag for Fingal in the 2018 All Ireland Community and Council Awards, presented by IPB Insurance and the Local Authorities Members Association (LAMA).

Nominations for ‘Best Community Sports Club’ and ‘Best Business working with the Community’, will see DPCC shortlisted against other clubs and business around Ireland.

The awards, now in their 12th year, recognise and celebrate community and councils working together. They provide a great opportunity to highlight and celebrate the work done within communities, to reward unsung heroes and recognise the phenomenal work done and contribution to everyone in their community.

The winners, representing their counties, will be announced by RTÉ’s Marty Morrissey at a gala awards ceremony at Croke Park on February 3.
