Shot by firefighter and historian Leslie Crowe, founder of the Lorcan Film Unit, it provides a fascinating snapshot of a time when air travel was considered to be the height of sophistication.

Who remembers being brought to the airport to see the planes, even though you could only dream of ever flying in one?
