Dublin Kite Festival

The Dublin Kite Festival on Sunday, June 9, will attract attendees from around the country, brandishing an array of kites ready to take to the skies and beautify the Dublin skyline with a jumble of colour.

There will be free entertainment all day long ensuring that visitors enjoy a carefree Sunday afternoon reliving childhood memories of kite flying while having fun with friends and family. Head for North Bull Island. See

Yoga and Vegan Festival 

Dublin's second annual Yoga and Vegan Festival takes place in the heart of city at Trinity College on Sunday, June 9.

Those going can participate in yoga and meditation sessions, treat their taste buds to some delicious plant-based foods, try henna body art, enjoy relaxing massages, attend talks on health and wellbeing (including mental health) and do lots more.

There will also be free yoga classes for children to make this a perfect family day out. It happens at Trinity College Dublin Sports Centre, 43 Pearse Street, Dublin 2. See for tickets and info.

Bark in the Park

Dogs and their owners are invited to take part in a 4km sponsored dog walk in Tymon Park in Templeogue on Sunday, July 9  (2pm). 

There’ll be music, games, raffles and very exciting competitions to find the dogs with the Happiest Smile, Waggiest Tail, Shiniest Coat, Best Bark and Best Overall Dog.

A fun table quiz in aid of St Francis Hospice takes place every Monday in the Estuary Pub, North Street, Swords starting at 10pm. Why not go along, test your knowledge and enjoy the craic? It’s for a very good cause!

 Art exhibition

Prospect Art Group is holding its 2019 Art Exhibition of paintings at the Red Stables, St Anne’s Park, Raheny from Monday to Sunday, June 10-16 (10.30am to 5.30pm daily). Admission is free.

South Dublin Antiques & Vintage Fair

On Sunday, June 9, the regular South Dublin Antiques & Vintage Fair will take place the Royal Marine Hotel, Dun Laoghaire, from 11am until 6pm. Admission is €3.50 per person, or just €2.50 with the voucher in this week’s paper. Entry is free for under-15s when accompanied by a supervising adult.

Blooming Ulysses

Blooming Ulysses is a one-man stage adaptation by Gerry Farrell of James Joyce's Ulysses that invites the audience to accompany the central protagonist Leopold Bloom on his wanderings around Dublin. It is a humorous and energetic performance that has been acclaimed by theatregoers and academics alike and serves as an excellent introduction to the novel. It runs in Bewley’s Café Theatre from June 10-16.

Multicultural festival 

Clongriffin Multicultural Festival will take place on Sunday, June 9 from 3pm to 5pm at Clongriffin Station Square.

Activities include food, drink, games, music, entertainment, face painting and much more. This is a free event and everyone is welcome. For more information visit
