MUSIC: Stomptown Brass headline Bulmer’s Carnival Night

The Stomptown Brass Band will be making some noise at this year’s Bulmers party.

STOMPTOWN Brass are the final act to be announced for this year's Bulmers Live at Leopardstown series, when the Dublin racecourse will transform into a Mardi Gras-flavoured event on Thursday, July 18.

Stomptown Brass has emerged as one of the most unique acts in Ireland performing their blend of funk and blues with a raucous cacophony of powerful driving rhythms. Making the most of their impressive line-up: two drummers, two trombones, two trumpets, one saxophone and one big dirty tuba, Stomptown Brass are an original, supercharged, energy driven band, taking the brass tradition and completely turning it on its head.

During the evening the New Orleans inspired event will also see Stomptown Brass play 'flash mob' style in between races, alongside Rio carnival characters walking amongst the crowds and street theatre performances featuring Horrid Helga’s Victorian Circus.

Bulmers Carnival Night Live at Leopardstown is the final announcement of an exciting series of shows set for the racecourse this summer, featuring multi-million selling US rapper Coolio (June 13), alongside some of the best Irish live bands around: HamsandwicH (June 6), The Blizzards (June 20), The Stunning (July 11), Something Happens (July 25), with UK chart-topping legends Bay City Rollers (August 8) and completing the series with one of Britain's biggest pop successes, All Saints (August 15).

The live performances will be preceded by an excellent card of racing and a wide selection of ticket options, from the great value ‘Summer Sizzler’, which at €33 includes admission to the racing and concert, Bulmers (or soft) drink, €10 festival food voucher and €5 tote bet, to The Pavilion Party - a reserved table in the Pavilion or The Panoramic Suite; with views overlooking the finishing straight, where you can enjoy banqueting buffet style dining for only €70.

Leopardstown Racecourse is only 20 minutes from Dublin City Centre on the Luas Green line, with dedicated shuttle buses running from the Sandyford stop and the Blackrock Dart Station. Leopard-stown is located off exit 14 or exit 15 on the M50 southbound or exit 15, M50 Northbound. Ample FREE parking is available onsite.
