Santa Dash is inviting families and friends to embrace their inner Santa and take part in the annual 5K and 10K fun run to help raise vital funds to support various different charities across Ireland.

Get dressed up in Santa gear and join them on the beach on North Bull Island from midday on Sunday, December 2.

It promises to be a great family day out and all for a good cause. See for details.

Christmas Fair

Sandra Wallace and John Delaney and the Event Management students at Dun Laoghaire Further Education Institute (DFEI) are hosting a Christmas Fair in the college, on Tuesday, November 27 in aid of Inner City Helping Homeless (ICHH). The event will feature a range of ideal gifts for Christmas, refreshments, entertainment and a raffle with prizes generously donated from businesses within the local community.

Terenure Christmas Festival & Bumper Craft Market

The Annual Terenure Christmas Festival & Bumper Craft Market is hosting its fifth market in conjunction with the ‘Lighting of the Christmas Tree’ event on Saturday, December 1 in the main village car park in Terenure Village. Trading hours are from 11am to 6pm.

Bushy Park Market has teamed up with Dublin City Council to provide a packed family day of entertainment, while local talent will take to the stage throughout the day and Santa Claus will arrive at 4pm to officially switch on the lights.

Cirque de Cabaret

Local group Broadway Cabaret Club proudly presents ‘Cirque de Cabaret’ on Thursday, December 6 at 8pm at the Hilton Hotel, Northern Cross/Malahide Road.

This is a cabaret-style show featuring music from Chicago, Moulin Rouge and The Greatest Showman. 

Tickets are only €12.50 and are available now on eventbrite. This is tremendous value for a two-hour show.

Christmas market in Swords 

Fingal County Council and Urban Markets are holding a Christmas Market in Swords Castle Demesne on Friday, November 30 from 12noon till 8pm, and Saturday, December 1 from 11am till 6pm. 

The market will have over 45 traders within the castle walls, which will have a focus on local producers, artists, crafters, makers and collectors.

Gifted - The Contemporary Craft and Design Fair

Ireland’s largest festival of giving, Gifted - The Contemporary Craft and Design Fair, is set to get Christmas off to a flying start at the RDS from December 5-9.

With over 500 designers, makers and artisan food producers displaying original gifts, the traditional opening to the festive season in Dublin is set to attract over 45,000 people in five days.

The fair takes place at the RDS Main Hall from December 5-9 from 10am each day.

Drawin' Together Exhibition

The Drawin' Together artists and illustrators co-operative is holding its first exhibition, ‘My Favourite Things’, in Studio 10, 10 Wicklow Street, Dublin 2 on Saturday and Sunday, December 1 and 2 from 10am–7pm.

Jonathan Swift Festival

The custodians of Saint Patrick’s Cathedral are inviting families from across Dublin to "awaken their inner giant" as they host the annual Jonathan Swift Festival 2018. 

The festival will run from Thursday, November 29 to Sunday, December 2 and celebrates the life and legacy of Ireland’s most famous satirist and author Jonathan Swift.

Among the family events, top children’s author Dave Rudden has collaborated with musician Jerry Fish to present a retelling of Gulliver's Travels. The musical comedy event will take place in Saint Patrick’s Cathedral on Saturday, December 1 and is free for children to attend. For further information visit

Zero Waste Festival Ireland promises talks, workshops, info-stands, swap-shops and a market, all dedicated to helping you reduce your waste this Christmas.

This day-long event you will get tips on cutting down on waste from food and packaging, gifts and wrapping, decorations and festive dressing and even pre-Christmas cleaning!
