The Gaiety Theatre has hosted a Christmas Panto each year since 1873 and tickets for this year’s show, Rapunzel, are selling like hot cakes. 

Let down your hair and let a star-studded cast give this marvellous tangled tale a magical, lavish and fun-loving touch. A pantomime extravaganza with singing, dancing and laugh out loud shenanigans - hair, there and everywhere! 

Legendary panto dame Joe Conlan, who celebrates his 28th year in the industry, will play ‘Nanny Ninny Noonah’ and he’s joined by Ciara Lyons as ‘Rapunzel’, Johnny Ward as ‘Johnny B Goode’ and Nicholas Grennell as the King ‘Larry Lilly Loolah’.

Beauty and the Beast

TheatreworX Productions return to The Helix this Christmas for yet another Christmas Panto success with their hilarious adaptation of Beauty and the Beast.

Starring Orla Jennings as Beauty and Chris Corron as The Beast and causing as much trouble as possible. Paul Byrom will be rocking in the role of Gaston.

Many shows are already sold out but the production runs until January 21, with performances on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. See

Polly and the Beanstalk

X Factor sensations Sean and Conor Price are special musical guests in this year's Olympia Theatre Panto Polly and the Beanstalk. They’ll join the all-star cast that includes hilarious Rory Cowan, Dustin the Turkey, Fair City's Ryan Andrews and RTE's Sorchio star Michaela O'Neill.

Sleeping Beauty

IT’S become one of Ireland’s favourite festive traditions and this year’s Cheerios Panto at Dublin’s Tivoli Theatre is shaping up to be the best yet.

The smash hit panto starring TV3's Alan Hughes as Sammy Sausages tells the well-loved children's classic tale, Sleeping Beauty, and it’s expected to be another roaring-with-laughter success.

An Evil Queen casts a spell on the baby princess and she is destined to prick her finger on a spinning wheel. Can the Handsome Prince save the day? Will Sammy Sausages defeat the Evil Queen? And will Buffy finally get her hands on a daddy? Maybe now that she’s been called ‘Queen of the Dames!’

The hilarious Rob Murphy plays the part of 'Buffy' while Mary Byrne and Michelle McGrath also star.

Dundrum on Ice

Dublin’s most spectacular ice rink brought to you by Tesco Mobile, is gearing up for its biggest season yet.

Returning to its prime location in the Pembroke District of Dundrum Town Centre, visitors can take to the ice and soak up the Christmas atmosphere whether they’re on the rink or watching on from the festive viewing deck. The crisp white, real ice rink is in an all-new structure this year, providing a truly magical ice skating experience.

Ice Skating Blanchardstown

Running since 2014, Ice Skating Blanchardstown takes place in a stunning 1,000 sq mt ice rink located next to Blanchardstown Shopping Centre

All levels of experience are catered for on the rink from beginners to advance skaters. There’s a large main rink and a separate rink for kids aged 3-10 years, which is always supervised, while the penguin club will help little ones find their ice legs. Winter Funderland

Funderland at the RDS has been part of Christmas in Dublin for over 40 years. It comprises almost three acres of attractions housed inside the Simmonscourt Pavilion with many more located in the complex outside.

This year’s exciting attractions include the Power Wave, Break Dance and the amazing Star Flyer called ‘Around the World’. All the old favourites will be there too along with the Funderland Loop, Ireland's only looping roller coaster! See for booking and details.

Fossett’s Christmas Circus

Fossett’s Christmas Circus is taking place in two heated Big Tops at the Tallaght Stadium in Dublin. The show lasts for around two hours, which includes a half hour circus pre-show when the audience can meet the performers.

Clowns, jugglers, acrobats, daredevils and contortionists will thrill and amaze visitors with amazing acts of grace, skill and strength.

At the end of each performance snow will descend from the roof of the Big Top as all the cast and crew join in  a sing along to wish you a very happy Christmas. See

Winter Wild Lights

Dublin Zoo’s new winter Wild Lights experience features giant colourful lanterns and illuminated sculptures, inspired by wildlife.

An enchanted lantern trail through the zoo is lit up with beautifully crafted silk lanterns in the form of a pride of lions, orang-utans, tigers, giraffe, monkeys and other wildlife.

Highlights also include a 16-metre high porcelain elephant tower and a 30-metre long Chinese dragon.

Visitors will be entertained by Chinese performers and can enjoy themed food and warm drinks at a marketplace selling handmade crafts from Chinese artisans.
