Glow is back in Smithfield on Saturday December 9 from 2-6pm! 

Expect an exciting free line-up of family activities to celebrate the winter season, including workshops, family performances, comedy and music.

Aware Christmas Run 

Dubliners are being urged to register for the 12th annual Aware Christmas Run, which will take place in the Phoenix Park, this Saturday, December 9.

This is Aware’s flagship fundraising event. Online registration is now available at for both 5K and 10K options at a cost of €25 per person. 

The race is run under AAI rules and chip timing applies. Festive attire is encouraged and all are welcome from walkers to runners!

No Fixed Abode exhibition 

No Fixed Abode is a group exhibition of artists, illustrators, photographers and sculptures who have donated works to help raise much need funds to combat the homelessness crisis in Ireland, in association with the Peter McVerry Trust.

The exhibition of the work is taking place in The Copper House, Saint Kevin’s Cottages, Synge Street, Dublin 8, from now until December 22. The gallery is open Monday to Friday from 10am to 5pm.

Duda exhibition in Dublin 

After a successful year exhibiting all over the world, including a 5,000 square foot mural in the new World Trade Centre, New York, Irish-Italian artist, David Uda (Duda), has returned home to Dublin to launch his most recent body of work at Sol Art Gallery (No. 8 Dawson Street, Dublin 2).

Gifted Craft and Design Fair

Retro railway-style posters of Dublin will be showcased by an award-winning illustrator and storyboard artist at Gifted Contemporary Craft and Design Fair in the RDS from December 5-10.

The Baily Lighthouse and central Dublin via Holyhead have been recreated in the style of 1930s railway posters, which have already proved to be extremely popular in the build-up to the Fair.

Gifted celebrates the best of over 600 Irish designers and makers from fashion to jewellery and beyond. It takes place at the RDS Main Hall from December 5-10 from 10am each day. Full details and booking can be found at

Dublin Christmas Flea Market

Dublin Christmas Flea Market takes place from December 7-10 in the Point Village, Dublin 1, when 135 producers will come together to create a bustling festive market to showcase the very best of Irish hand crafted art, textiles, ceramics, beauty, up-cycled, vintage goods and speciality foods, to create this unique indoor Christmas market.

It’s open on Thurs & Fri, from 1-8pm, and Sat and Sunday from 11am-6pm.

Beatles music

There will be a night of Beatles music in aid of DEIS (Development Education Ireland Sharing) Madagascar CLG on Friday December 8 at 9pm sharp in the City of Dublin Workingmen’s Club, 33-36 Little Strand Street, Dublin 7 featuring an Ensemble of Singers including Barrington Cullen, Roisín Gaffney, Paul Hoey, Christy Kearns, the OLMC Folk Group, Dave O’Mara, Harry Shiels, Martin Sneyd and Danny Weir.

Green Christmas Market

The Mart Gallery has revealed details of a Green Christmas Market for 2017 running from Friday, December 7 to Saturday 23 from 12-7pm each day

The Mart Gallery, located at the Old Fire Station, 190A Rathmines Road Lower, Rathmines, will provide a much-needed place to sell, promote, showcase and buy eco-friendly gifts and services. This will include gift items made from reused / recycled materials alongside businesses promoting reuse and the sharing economy.

Housed in a beautifully repurposed fire station on the high street, Rathmines, the market will showcase a wide range of hand-made, locally produced items – perfect for Christmas gifts.

An evening of Christmas carols

On December 11 and 12 at 6.30pm Dublin Castle is hosting an evening of Christmas carols and a viewing of the Neapolitan crib in the magnificent Chapel Royal, which will be especially illuminated for the festive season, followed by a glass of wine and a mince pie in the Gothic Room in the beautiful State apartments.
