THE Grammy-Award winning singer/songwriter Ray LaMontagne has announced that he will bring his ‘Just Passing Through’ acoustic tour to the UK and Ireland in May 2018.

This will include a show at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre on May 9.

These very special acoustic performances will mark his first tour dates in the UK and Ireland in seven years.

The performances will highlight songs from his vast and varying body of work.

Ray will be joined by John Stirratt from Wilco on bass and the duo will be playing songs spanning across ‘T rouble’, ‘Till The Sun Turns Black’, ‘Gossip in the Grain’, ‘God Willin’ & The Creek Don’t Rise’, ‘Supernova’ and ‘Ouroboros’.

On this tour Ray will also be joined by special guest Freya Ridings.

Ray LaMontagne has released six studio albums, including the BPI Certified Platinum record ‘Trouble’ with songs ‘Trouble’ and ‘Jolene’.

Additionally, Ray’s 2010 album ‘God Willin’ & the Creek Don’t Rise’ won the Grammy for Best Folk Album and was nominated in the coveted Song of The Year category for ‘Beg Steal or Borrow’.

LaMontagne was inspired to quit his job and begin a career as a singer-songwriter after waking up one morning to the radio on his alarm clock playing the Stephen Stills’ song ‘Treetop Flyer’.

LaMontagne began performing in 1999 while maintaining a part-time job as a tutor.

In the summer of 1999 he recorded 10 songs for a demo album.

Each subsequent release from his catalogue over the last 13 years carries its own character and feel.

Having worked with producers Ethan Johns, Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys and Jim James of My Morning Jacket, Ray’s vast sonic catalogue has been called “a perfect throwback to the lost art of the album-length format” by Entertainment Weekly.

Tickets for Dublin are priced from €60.50 and are available via ;and
