Five easy steps to swapping your car PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 28 August 2008
Stunning models, Samina Zia and Pippa O’Connor stepped it up a gear at the official launch of the Merlin Car Swap at CHQ in Dublin last week.
The Car Swap initiative from Merlin Car Auctions in Naas is the first of its kind in the motoring industry, not only in Ireland but also Europe.
Samina and Pippa were pictured alongside a top of the range Porche and a 1996 Opel Vectra to show that car buyers now have the option to trade up or down with the recession proof Car Swap.
swapping-.jpgThis customer value-focused initiative is aimed at offering an efficient and cost effective service to the Merlin Car Auction client.
The Merlin Car Swap means customers can now trade-in their vehicle against any purchase, with the opportunity to save thousands of euros at Merlin Car Auctions in Naas, Co Kildare and all in five simple steps:
Step 1- Present Your Vehicle
Simply drive your vehicle to Merlin and let one of the experienced team value your car in terms of what they expect it will reach at auction. This valuation service costs e25.
Step 2- Receive Your Merlin Car Swap Certificate
Following the valuation the customer will be presented with a ‘Merlin Car Swap Certificate’ for the value, which can be used against the purchase of any car at the auctions. The certificate is valid for seven days and customers can use it to either trade up or down.
Step 3- Select Your New Car
The customer can then select their car of choice from the range available. As with all auctions there is no warrenty on vehicles. However, Merlin Car Auctions offer an optional on site Motor Check which will check the vehicle history.
Once the hammer falls on a sale, the customer can drive away with their new vehicle and leave the trade in at the auctions. Alternatively Merlin Car Auctions set a time frame of two working days to settle the invoice, which means that either way the customer is never without a car, as the trade in only has to be given when the new car is collected.
Step 4- Make The Swap
In order to complete the Car Swap, the customer must present their old car with all its documentation and then settle payment on the new car. The Merlin Car Swap Certificate will be deducted from the invoice of the new car or if the customer is down trading, the difference will be refunded to them.
Step 5- Drive Away
Going, going, gone! The Merlin Car Swap is complete and the customer can drive away and enjoy their new car.
The Merlin Car Swap is one of many exclusive initiatives within the Merlin Motor Group.
Merlin Car Auctions Managing Director, David Byrne commented: “Car Swap means that both buyers and sellers now have a complete offering from the auction, which is something we have always worked towards.”
The highly innovative company is renowned for their constant strive to stay ahead of the industry by continuously bettering their products and services and indeed their premises with their recent move to their purpose built facility in Naas, Co Kildare.
The company is also the first to launch a two-lane auction system which improved both their business process and the offering to their customers.
