Kids save baby locked in house PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 31 July 2008
kids.jpgThree brave young men went to the rescue of a  young baby in Ballybrack recently who had inadvertently locked himself into the family home.
The grandmother of the child had gone outside to hang up the washing when the baby accidentally locked the front door. The woman was subsequently unable to gain access to the house.
However, Tom Callaghan (10) and his two friends Paul Kirwan and Ciarán Barry (both 11) were on hand to save the day after the woman called for help.
Tom explained: “We were just walking down the road when the grandmother asked us to help her. We had to go to the building site across the road to get a ladder.
“The builder then put the ladder against the wall and Ciarán got in the window and opened the front door. Paul managed to get the back door open and I helped with the ladder.”
