dublinladies.jpgWHILE the Dublin senior football team took all the plaudits the weekend before last for their fantastic victory over Wexford in the Leinster Final, the ladies were doing their bit too in the All-Ireland Minor A Championship.
On July 19, Dublin defeated Mayo 3-23 to 2-7 in Athlone in the semi-final to book a final spot against Tyrone on August 4.
Dublin took advantage of the stiff breeze in the first half and outscored their Western opponents by 14 to points to one before Deirdre Doherty goaled for Mayo. 
Immediately, Dublin broke downfield and Noelle Healy scored the first of her two goals.
The Metropolitans added a further five points to leave the half-time score at 1-19 to 1-1.  
Mayo took the game to Dublin early in the second half, and added three points to their tally before Natalia Hyland and Healy goaled again for the Dubs.
