winner.jpgOne happy punter from the Southside walked away with over e170,000 in cash last week after he placed a 50c each way ‘Lucky 63’ bet on the horses.
In light of the economic downturn and with all the talk of a recession the Ballyfermot man had every reason to smile when his gamble paid off with Paddy Power bookmakers to scoop him the massive cash prize.
The lucky punter correctly predicted not one, not two, but six winners at race meetings in Brighton and Beverley at various odds ranging from 10/3 to 20/1.
His 50c each way Lucky 63 bet, placed at 3.10pm last Tuesday (July 15) guaranteed him a whopping e136,627 and on top of that Paddy Power topped his winnings up by 25 per cent to bring his total windfall to e170,740.
They even offered him a few more bob to reveal his identity but obviously the substantial win was enough for the mystery winner who declined the offer and retained his anonymity.

All that is known is that he is a local man in his 30s who is a regular in Paddy Power on the Ballyfermot Road.
Last week staff at the shop said he was “over the moon” with his winnings.
Paddy Power himself said: “A 25 per cent bonus is the least he deserved after picking six out of six. With Galway just around the corner I wouldn’t mind rubbing shoulders with the gentleman – I could do with some of his luck rubbing off on me!”
