THE Irish Voice newspaper and Irish America magazine has nominated a Northside local as one of the 50 Most Influential Irish Women in the United States.
International Esthetician and Make-Up Artist, Regina Tunney, originally from Donaghmede, moved to America some years ago and was fortunate to get experience interning at Julliard in New York.
The women were nominated for having an influence in the corporate sphere, the local business world and the community.
A graduate from Portobello College, Regina got her lucky break when she was accepted at Kimara Ahnert’s on Madison Avenue where she worked as a make-up artist to celebrities and socialites.
Her experience spans both continents and includes clients in the beauty, fashion, commercial, television and bridal industry.
She has also successfully designed her own line of cosmetics and make-up brushes and offers one-to-one make-up lessons so women can take Regina’s skills home with them and adapt it to suit their specific style.
Regina is now the proud owner of her own spa, ‘Pure’ in New York, employing over 30 people, and is an avid supporter of the Children’s Alopecia Project.
She also sponsors and supports children’s events, fashion shows and art projects in the local community.
Regina is the daughter of retired Garda Sergeant Gerard and Clare McCarthy who live in Donaghmede.
