Renewed call for help on missing man’s birthday

THE SISTER of a Northside man who went missing over four years ago has made a fresh appeal for help in finding him in the week of his birthday.
Patrick Lawlor went missing from Darndale on December 16, 2004, leaving his family distraught and without any clue as to his whereabouts.
His youngest sister Niamh (19) is now marking his 27th birthday (June 23) by renewing her family’s appeal for help in finding out where Patrick went after he left home at 6.30am on that day.
“We haven’t had much help in finding out what happened to him,” Niamh told Northside People.
“Either nobody knows anything or they’re not saying, but for his birthday all his family wants is to have him home with us.”
According to Niamh, there has been no advance in the case.
“It’s a total mystery whatever happened to him,” she stated.
Niamh was 15-years-old when Patrick went missing but recalls that it was a particularly difficult Christmas for her family.
“I was young when he left,” she said.
“I’m the baby of the family so he has missed a lot of me growing up. We were always very close.
“So much has changed since 2004. I have my own car now and I can drive; I’d love Patrick to see that.

“It would be great to let him know he has a niece now. She is called Destiny and is nearly two-years-old.”
Niamh said that of all her sisters she looks like Patrick the most.
“My mother said my mannerisms reminds her of him,” she stated.
“We both have the same black hair and my mum thinks I’ve picked up some of his ways.
“It’s not easy for her being reminded of him every time she looks at me.”
Patrick’s family still buy him cards and presents for his birthday and Christmas in the hope that he will come back and see them some day.
He was 23 when he went missing and his family is hoping that they will get a resolution to the current situation soon to put an end to their constant worry.
The Lawlor family received a tip-off the day after Patrick disappeared saying his car was at the back of Dublin Airport.
When they checked they found his car undamaged with his jacket still inside.
They believe that somebody must have seen him that morning.
The family feels they have done everything in their power to try to find Patrick, making appeals in the media, working alongside gardai and sticking posters up around their area.
They say the initial support they received has waned, so they want to use his birthday as a chance to re-invigorate his case. They maintain hope that he may still be alive.
“He left our house at Buttercup Park at half six that morning but nobody has come forward to say they have seen him since,” added Niamh.
“Things just aren’t moving forward in this case. Without anybody saying they have seen him there’s nothing we can do.
“We really want help from the public on this one; it’s our last chance.”
Patrick is 5'10" in height, has a thin build, green eyes and short black hair. When last seen, he was wearing a Nike t-shirt, navy tracksuit bottoms and a pair of Nike runners.
