rally.jpgRally Ireland has announced the appointment of three of the Assistant Clerks of the Course (ACOC) for next January’s World Championship event.
Robert Lyttle will take charge in the development and management of the route and stages. Joe Corcoran will once again take charge of the Sligo area as well as the safety of the rally, while Robert McDaid has been appointed to manage all timekeeping and communications for the event.
This team of ACOCs has been put in place to assist Clerk of the Course, Gordon Noble, in the preparation of the opening round of the 2009 WRC.
Other appointments are expected in the coming months.
 This unique cross-border event, sponsored by Fáilte Ireland and Sport NI, travelled through eight counties.  The four day event attracted more than 250,000 spectators in 2007 and generated more than e48 million for the economy. The next Rally Ireland takes place from January 29 – February 1 2009.
