fordireland.jpgFord Ireland has confirmed that new Republic of Ireland manager, Giovanni Trapattoni, will have the use of a top-of-the-range new Ford Mondeo, the 2008 Semperit Irish Car of the Year, when he is in Ireland.
The manager’s assistants, Liam Brady and Marco Tardelli, will also each have the use of new Mondeos as part of Ford’s ongoing sponsorship agreement with the Football Association of Ireland (FAI).
“Like all Irish supporters we’re really excited about the appointment of Giovanni Trapattoni,” said Ford Ireland Chairman and Managing Director, Eddie Murphy. “He’s one of the true greats of world football, and we hope and expect that he will help this Irish team to achieve its full potential, starting with the World Cup qualifiers in the autumn.
“Our new manager is used to the best, so we think it’s fitting that he should have the use of the 2008 Irish Car of the Year during his time in Ireland,” Mr Murphy added. “As part of our sponsorship of the FAI, we’ll be providing the association with new Ford Mondeo Titanium cars for Mr Trapattoni and his two assistants.”
Ford Ireland has been the official vehicle supplier to the FAI since 2006 and provides support to the association at national, club and grassroots level.
“We’re proud to be associated with Irish football and we wish the international team every success for the upcoming World Cup campaign,” Mr Murphy decalred.
