Brothers Tom and Stephen Murphy celebrated the launch of their redeveloped Murphy & Gunn BMW showroom in style recently.Among the 300 guests were Grainne Seoige, Gordon Darcy and Pat Kenny who took time out of his busy schedule to MC the event. Also in attendance was the managing director of BMW Ireland, Sean Green and the recently appointed Head of BMW GB Klaus Kipsgaard. Murphy & Gunn have been BMW dealers since the late 1960s and the company has grown in tandem with the BMW brand. Commenting on the redevelopment project, Stephen Murphy, dealer principal of Murphy & Gunn BMW stated: “The decision to remain in Milltown was key to the continued success of company, the central location not only enables Murphy & Gunn to service the premium motoring requirements of the surrounding area, but it provides customers with a convenient authorised BMW dealership only a stone’s throw from the city centre.” The launch event also showcased the stylish new BMW 1 Series Convertible, the latest and final member of the 1 Series family and also the most affordable BMW convertible ever made. At the launch guests were treated to a selection of exquisite, ultra modern and mostly organic canapés, to compliment BMW’s own ‘green’ ethos. BMW’s class leading fuel economy and emission management strategy, known as BMW EfficientDynamics, means that from July 2008 Irish customers buying a new BMW can expect to make significant savings when the new Vehicle Registration Tax system comes into effect on July 1. BMW’s award-winning EfficientDynamics programme has recently been honoured with a global award. A jury consisting of 47 motor journalists from 24 countries has awarded the BMW 118d, a model that displays all facets of EfficientDynamics, with the ‘World Green Car of the Year’ at the New York International Auto Show 2008. |
