Dear editor,

We are delighted to announce that our annual Enable Ireland ‘Gold Badge Appeal’ Action on Disability fundraising and awareness campaign will take place from September 13-27. We invite readers to take action on disability by purchasing a gold badge from one of our volunteers on the streets or from our collection boxes located in a selection of local retail outlets/shops.

You can also donate to our appeal by texting Enable to 57500* or by phoning callsave 1850204304. Enable Ireland is a leading national provider of services for people with disabilities. Founded in 1948, Enable Ireland supports 3,300 children, adults and their families in Ireland. Monies raised locally will be used to enhance the services Enable Ireland provides for people with disabilities.

I would like to thank your readers for their ongoing support to Enable Ireland and look forward to their support in this year’s ‘Gold Badge Appeal’ Action on Disability.

Fionnuala O’Donovan
