suv.jpgPeugeot in Ireland has announced plans to extend the 4007 range, the first SUV to be launched by the Peugeot brand.
Available in three versions, ST 2.2 HDi 16” alloys, ST 2.2 HDi 18” alloys and SV 2.2 HDi 18” alloys, the new 4007 commercial range will retail in Ireland from e31,750 including VAT, plus delivery related charges, or from e26,248 excluding VAT.
With its innovative electronic on-demand 4WD system, the 4007 enables the driver to select three modes of drive while on the move.
Drivers have the choice of a permanent 2WD, great for the majority of times when travelling around town or on a motorway, with all power directed to the front wheels. When the automatic 4WD is selected, engine torque is delivered automatically to wheels that require the most traction at any time.
With permanent 4WD, torque is split 50:50 between front and rear wheels making it perfect for when the going gets tough. This technology allows 4007 to tackle some of the roughest terrain, yet still provides excellent on-road dynamic behaviour and excellent fuel economy.

Powering the 4007 commercial is a 2.2-litre HDi engine, first seen in the 407 HDi 170bhp. It produces 156 bhp at 4000 rpm, but its torque increases to an exceptionally strong 380 Nm at just 2,000 revs.  The flexibility of this engine makes it very tractable when performing off-road. The 2.2-litre HDi 156 engine with 6-speed manual transmission emits 191 g/km CO2 and is fitted as standard with a diesel particulate filter system (FAP) to eliminate harmful particles, technology pioneered by Peugeot in 2000.
Standard equipment includes ESP, ABS and EBFD, an electronic ‘on-demand’ four-wheel drive system, automatic air conditioning with climate control, pollen and dust filters, six airbags (front, side, and curtain), electric and heated door mirrors, radio/CD MP3 reader with steering wheel audio controls, automatic headlights, cruise control and electric windows, roof rails, leather trimmed steering wheel and gearknob and one lockable and one refrigerated glove box.
The top-of-the-range SV model benefits from Xenon headlamps and washers, rear parking aid, heated driver and passenger seats, leather upholstery, driver electric adjustable seat, chrome window mouldings and kick plates and CD changer.
