Fine Gale locals declare election ambition PDF Print E-mail

TWO Dublin 15 residents have declared their intention to become Fine Gael candidates in next year’s local elections.
Nigerian national, Adeola Ogunsina, and Kieran Dennison plan to work on the ground to represent the needs and concerns of the 50,000 or so people living in the area.
Mr Ogunsina, a local businessman who has lived in Ireland since 2000, is in contention to run in the Mulhuddart ward.
The petrol station manager says he has always been politically driven.
“All my life, I have always been driven by the urge to serve,” he explained.
“I have always wanted to do something for my community and I believe politics is one of the many ways we can serve others.”
The Ongar local has been active with the Fine Gael party for three years.
“It has afforded me the opportunity to show that immigrants like me are a hardworking, dedicated and honest,” he said.
“I want to extend the same dedication and hard work I have shown in the party and my business life to serve the community as an appointed representative in the area.”
He concluded: “I will be focusing on education, better sporting and community facilities, the protection of our environment and building a greater understanding among the diverse communities that now live in our area.”
Mr Dennison, a native of Donegal, also believes the Dublin 15 area lags behind when it comes to the schools, public transport and amenities.
“It is clear to me that we are losing out in terms of investment and priorities in comparison with other areas such as Swords, Malahide and Castleknock,” he claimed.
“I believe that this is due to the poor representation that local people have received from their sitting councillors.”
The two men will work closely with Leo Varadkar (TD) and Cllr Eithne Loftus.
