PSORIASIS: National Psoriasis Information Week, in conjunction with the Psoriasis Association of Ireland, will take place from Monday to Friday, April 7-11. BULL ISLAND EXHIBITION: Margo Banks will hold her fourth solo show, in Film Base opposite the Temple Bar Music Centre on Tuesday, April 8, and it will subsequently move to Blue Leaf Gallery in Fairview on April 9 where it will run until April 23. The exhibition is based on Bull Island, which has been a haven for Margo and many other Northsiders over the years.

DESERT CHALLENGE: Women’s Aid is looking for people to take part in its Sinai Desert Challenge from October 18 to 25. The sponsorship amount that needs to be raised is €2,950. EXHIBITION: The Ross Art annual exhibition and sale of paintings takes place in Pobalscoil Rosmini on Gracepark Road, Drumcondra, on Saturday and Sunday, April 26 and 27. As usual, there will be a large range of oil and watercolour paintings, as well as works in other media including pastels and acrylics. On display will be a variety of different styles covering such subjects as landscapes, seascapes, still life, animals, floral studies to the pure abstracts.

HOSPITAL PLAY: Play Well is looking for volunteers for their hospital play services. The volunteers provide play activities for children in hospitals around the city. If you can give two or three hours once a week (either morning or afternoon - Monday to Friday) you can make a difference to ill children. Volunteers must be 18 years or over. INDONESIA WALK: The Irish Heart Foundation is challenging eager adventurers to sign up for their 2008 Overseas Sponsored Walk to the stunning Indonesian island of Sumatra. The walk, which takes place from October 10 to 23, promises to be a trip of a lifetime. Money raised is used to fund vital research, heart health programmes, CPR training, a national patient helpline and support advocacy for better patient services.
