Free soft drinks for designated drivers PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 24 March 2008
cola.jpgCoca-Cola has announced the return of the Designated Driver campaign for the month of March.
For the first time ever the campaign will run throughout the month in an effort to increase awareness of safe driving.
Coca-Cola is calling on all publicans in County Dublin to sign up to the campaign which offers free soft drinks to the designated driver.
All designated drivers are urged to take part and be rewarded for taking on the role.
Speaking at the launch Alfie Lydon, Managing Director, Coca-Cola Bottlers Ireland, said: “Encouraging people to make the responsible choice when driving is crucial in reducing the numbers of road accidents. The availability of non-alcoholic drinks free of charge can provide people with an all-important alternative and could ultimately save lives.
“The Christmas 2007 campaign was a huge success with some 2,354 pubs, clubs, hotels and restaurants participating in the programme nationwide. The figure represents a 17 per cent year on year increase in the number of participating outlets. License premises owners can register by calling 1890 262 226.”
All designated drivers who drive their friends and family home from licensed premises are entitled to have a free night on Coca-Cola with unlimited free soft drinks.
This offer is available through participating licensed premises across the country – a full list can be found on the dedicated website, www.designateddriver.ie
