LAST Saturday week (March 15) was a historic day for a West Dublin GAA Club. The under 12 camogie team, representing Erin go Bragh from Littlepace, Dublin 15, played their first competitive match against St Oliver Plunkett Eoghan Ruadh. At a windswept Huntersrun, the girls showed great skill and determination and nearly scored just before half time following a great run by Amy O’Hara. Eoghan Ruadh went ahead midway through the first half. In what was an exciting game, Erin go Bragh got the score back to 2-1 with 10 minutes to go. Rachel Carr commanded the Erin go Bragh goal and pulled off two fine saves to keep the game on a knife-edge. Late on, Eoghan Ruadh broke away following a good attack by the outstanding Erin go Bragh midfielder Erica Manning to seal a 3-1 victory for the visiting team. Erin go Bragh would like to thank St Oliver Plunkett Eoghan Ruadh for making it a great day for all involved. The girls from Erin go Bragh will have taken a great deal of confidence from this game and can look forward to a good league campaign. New players are always welcome.
