A NEW primary school will open on the same site as Phibblestown Community College next September.
Scoil Ghráinne Community National School has been set up under a new model of primary schools that will come under the patronage of County Dublin VEC.
Scoil Ghráinne will take pupils of all religious beliefs and one of its aims will be to acknowledge and respect the diversity of values, beliefs, languages and traditions in modern Irish society.
“The school will be committed to inclusion, equality and fairness,” a spokesperson said.
“It will aim at all times to provide a caring, happy and secure atmosphere where the intellectual, spiritual, physical, moral and cultural needs of the children are identified and met.”
The new school is inviting applications for enrolment to Junior Infants for September 2008.
Application forms and further information can be obtained from Lorraine Thompson, County Dublin VEC, 1 Tuansgate, Belgard Square East, Tallaght, Dublin 24 or by calling 4529600.
Application forms may also be downloaded from the County Dublin VEC website at  www.codubvec.ie. All completed forms must be submitted by March 14.
Meanwhile, Phibblestown Community College is also still accepting enrolments to First Year for September.
Ms Eileen O’Rourke has recently been appointed as principal of the school. Ms O’Rourke was previously deputy principal of Castleknock Community College.
