padraig18.jpgPADRAIG Naughton, PRO for Dublin Community Games, has received a national volunteer award.
Mr Naughton has been involved in Community Games for more than quarter of a century.
The awards are made annually by HSE Community Games. They are highly valued amongst more than 20,000 volunteers who give of their services every year in preparing tens of thousands of young people for participation in sports and cultural activities in more than 750 Community Games local areas nationwide.
A total of 85 awards were made for the year 2008, comprising 31 area awards, 27 adult volunteer awards and 27 youth volunteer awards.
HSE Promotion Manager, Maria Lordan-Dunphy, said that through their sponsorship of the games, they have been able to work with adults and children at a local level in promoting health awareness in every village, town and city in Ireland. 
Ms Lordan-Dunphy added that volunteers were at the heart of the Community Games movement.
