author.jpgA NEW author from the Southside has stormed the bestseller charts with his first novel.
‘Confessions of a Fallen Angel’, is the breathtaking debut from Ronan O’Brien, a solicitor, who hails originally from Templeogue.
The book first entered the Irish bestsellers chart at number five and thanks to a remarkable word-of-mouth buzz climbed to number four last week.
In some Dublin bookstores it holds the number one position.
Ronan’s achievement is made all the more impressive given the chart is currently dominated  by such well-established and prize-winning authors as Cathy Kelly, James Patterson and Anne Enright.
Confessions Of A Fallen Angel deals with the near-death experience of a child. Following the incident the narrator becomes cursed with the ability to foresee the deaths of the people closest to him.
These visions come to him in his dreams and, following a disastrous attempt to save a childhood friend from drowning, a set of terrifying events begins to unfold. Finally, as a young man, he finds redemption in the arms of Ashling, his beautiful wife - but then the visions return.

Set in the fictional Dublin suburb of Rathgorman, the novel concerns one man’s struggle to live an ordinary life in extraordinary circumstances.
It’s a story about love lost and found and the vast range of emotions that can be weathered by the human heart.
Ronan O’Brien is a solicitor who specialises in the area of criminal law and now lives in County Kildare.
Confessions Of A Fallen Angel retails at e16.99 from Hodder Headline Ireland.
Meanwhile, another Southside author has just launched her fourth novel.
In ‘Time After Time’ Linda Kavanagh, who hails from Dun Laoghaire, explores the impact the past has on the present and how secrets can come back to a haunt you.
The book features two central characters including Caroline Leyden who is preparing for her wedding to Ken and wants everything to be perfect.
But after she discovers a 30-year-old photograph that reveals she has an aunt she never met events take a sinister turn.
Aware that she has touched a raw nerve within her family, Caroline is compelled to track down her aunt, but it is a journey that will change her life.
In the meantime investigative reporter Alice Fitzsimons is shocked when her husband reveals the true state of their finances and decides a trip to Argentina, by herself, is required to give herself time to think.
Caroline and Alice have never met, but something connects them – it’s hiding in the murky depths of the past just waiting for someone to unearth the truth and set it free.
Linda Kavanagh struck gold with her previous novel ‘Hush Hush’ which received rave reviews from the critics.
She’ll be hoping for a similar success with ‘Time After Time’ which retails at e9.99 from Poolbeg Press.
