SALE: Monkstown Church of Ireland will hold their annual sale in aid of world needs on Saturday, November 15 from 10.30am - 2pm in the Knox Hall, Monkstown. COLLECTION: Dublin Central Mission street collections are taking place over weekends in November at different locations throughout Dublin. All collectors are volunteers. Generous donations welcome to help care for older people (in sheltered housing and day care/nursing home facilities) as well as the further development of city centre work and with those living on the streets.

TOASTMASTERS: Castleknock Toastmasters Club has kicked off for a new season and is looking for new members. PATRICIAN COLLEGE:  Attention past pupils of Patrician College, Finglas. The school is in existence over the past 40 years and some past pupils want to mark this occasion. WOMEN’S GROUP: A women's support and social club for ages 20s, 30s, and 40s has now been running for the past year from St Helena's Family Resource Centre, Finglas South. The group meet every Thursday evening from 7.30-9pm in the training room and organise various activities and outings. They devote one week of the month to informal learning which takes the form of quiz's, debates, speakers, and tutors on various subjects. COMMUNITY: Co-operation Fingal, the community partnership in the North Fingal area has been offering free community training sessions every Tuesday for the past two months. The final session is a planning seminar, which will take place on Tuesday, November 11, at Balbriggan Town Hall from 6pm to 8pm. This will include information on the planning process, types of plans that can be put into place in an area and how to engage with planners if you are part of a community group. VOLUNTEERS: Healthy adult volunteers are needed to take part as control participants in a study of cognitive abilities (such as memory, attention) in individuals with a genetic disorder. The research is taking place at the Smurfit Research Centre, Beaumont Hospital. Participation involves taking tests of memory, attention and other mental faculties.
