dylan_.jpgTHE 2008/2009 snooker season got underway recently with the Under 14 and Under 16 Championships taking place in the Classic Snooker Club Finglas.
Dylan Carey (12), from the Bru Crumlin Club, took both titles, beating Sean Walpole, from Raheny and a member of the Griffith Club, in both finals.
Dylan, who made six 30 odd breaks on his way to winning both finals and numerous 20 odd breaks, made the Irish team that took on Northern Ireland in the All-Ireland Championships earlier this year and won all his matches. He is a very improved young player this season.
Sean Walpole was unfortunate on the day, as he too had played some great snooker to reach both deciders.
The organisers would like to thank the management and staff of Classic Snooker Club for hosting both events and providing excellent facilities on the day, and Annette Newman and Larry O'Dea for their help in officiating as referees.
