Preparing your bike for the winter PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 09 October 2008
bike.jpgWith winter approaching, many bikers will be thinking about putting their bikes away until next year but Dublin Harley-Davidson in the Red Cow Retail Centre is offering to customise your bike so you can continue to enjoy your dream ride all year round.
Dublin Harley-Davidson is launching a whole host of winter deals on parts, accessories and merchandise to enable you to get the most out of your bike through the bleaker months.
Alternatively you can pamper and customise your bike in the meantime so you can be on the road once the sun comes out.
There are a range of offers available throughout October, including a promotional winter service deal, where you can get an oil and filter change, a 99 point spring check and essential corrosion treatment for just e149.
Quick detachable screens and heated grips and seats are also available in each dealership so you can go out on your bike no matter what the weather.
It also pays to have the right clothing for winter to ensure riding is a pleasant experience. Every dealership stocks authentic Harley-Davidson motorclothes waterproofs which will withstand the toughest rainfall, leather and nylon riding suits including Gore-Tex, as well as a range of heated clothing for those bitter cold days.
Jeff Murphy, dealer principal of Dublin Harley-Davidson dealership, commented: “Many motorcycle riders choose not to expose their bike to the winter elements and just go out on sunnier days. However, this year with all the rain that we have had, there has been little time for riding, so it makes sense to get your bike prepared so you can go out whatever the weather.
“Winter riding gives you more time to enjoy your bike and with the nights drawing in motorcycle riders should think about changing bulbs and upgrading to Xenon high intensity headlights and fast reacting LED taillights so they can be seen at all times. It is also worth checking your tyres and customising your bike with screens and grips, and we have a range of offers on parts and accessories including tyres and fitting.
“Alternatively if you do want to tuck your bike away for the winter, then again it is worth doing some checks and customising so your bike is ready for when the weather changes,” he added. “Whether that’s a new paint finish, adding some new chrome parts, or giving your battery a break, all these things will mean your bike is in top condition when its time to ride again.”
