“It seems to me that the council just don’t care about what conditions I am forced to live in here.” A spokesperson for the firm currently in charge of the buildings stated that they are working to solve the problems at Priory Hall. “We would like to confirm that all problems relating to water ingress at the named apartment are currently being addressed by the main contractor/sub-contractor/suppliers,” the company told Northside People. “We anticipate an expedient resolution to this problem.” Dublin City Council has also confirmed that they are aware of the situation at Priory Hall. While stressing that they are not currently in charge of the property, they say they will endeavor to resolve the issue in the coming weeks. Cllr Sean Kenny (Lab) has called on the developers to take immediate action to deal with ongoing flooding and maintenance problems at Priory Hall. “It’s not just the current heavy rains that is the issue; some of the other problems in Priory Hall have been going on for past nine months,” he claimed. “Dublin City Council has been pursuing the developer to finish the snagging. Residents have told me they are sick of it.” Cllr Kenny submitted a report to Dublin City Council asking for an urgent report outlining the work that needs to be undertaken. “The only outstanding issue to be resolved is the balconies,” a reply from the council stated. “The [company] has made several attempts to resolve these leaks to date. “At present, arrangements are being made for our senior engineer to meet on site with the senior engineer from the company and resolve this issue once and for all. This will take place within the next two weeks.”
