mazda.jpgDublin Mazda dealers are celebrating yet another accolade as the car giant has driven off with the ‘Best Convertible’ award in the 2008 Auto Express New Car Honours for the third consecutive year.
In a highly complimentary summation, top motoring magazine Auto Express stated: “The world’s top selling roadster just gets better and better!  And is it any surprise?  In the new MX-5 Roadster Coupe, Mazda has created a car with all the appeal of the original, plus the added benefit of a folding hard-top.”
David McGonigle, managing director of Mazda Ireland, was confident that the MX-5 would scoop the top prize and he explained why the car has proved so popular with customers.
“The MX-5 line first appeared in our showroom back in September 2006 and was an instant success with customers due to its innovative and original design,” said David.
“The convertible features the world’s fastest powered folding hard top, which takes just 12 seconds to fold up or down, making it ideally suited to the unpredictable Irish weather as it allows customers to quickly make the most of any small pockets of sunshine before the inevitable rain starts to pour,” he added.
This year has seen Mazda pick up dozens of automotive awards across Europe including the much coveted ‘World Car of the Year 2008’ which saw the Mazda2 fighting off heavyweight contenders such as Ford Mondeo and Mercedes C-Class.
“This award is yet another testament from industry experts to the quality of Mazda vehicles where cutting-edge design, Japanese engineering and renowned reliability are the foundation for all the Mazda models,” added David.
To find out more about the award winning Mazda range, and to arrange a test drive those in South Dublin can contact Sandyford Mazda (Dublin 18) on 2069200 or Phoenix Motors (Dublin 12) on 4601777.  Those in North Dublin can contact Park Motors (Dublin 7) on 8691000, Joe Duffy Mazda (Dublin 11) on 8503939, or Annesley Williams Ltd on 8428855.
