New Peugeot 308 SW leaves its mark PDF Print E-mail

sw.jpgThe new Peugeot 308 SW, which arrived in Ireland last July, is now available in three and five door hatchback guises with a choice of three trim levels, matched to two engine options.
The new Peugeot 308 SW retails in Ireland from e24,195, plus dealer delivery related charges.
Peugeot’s new 308 SW builds on the strengths of its predecessor the 307 SW and develops them even further. The panoramic glass roof is now 27 per cent larger, with a total area of 1.68 m2, and it extends beyond the heads of the second row passengers.
The modular seats are improved and easier to operate and the vehicle now has a very practical opening rear tailgate glass. The 308 SW can even carry seven passengers, thanks to the two seats in the third seat row, which are also interchangeable.
Peugeot’s new offering, the 308 SW, will be available in three trims: SE, SX and SV. Standard equipment on all models include: power steering, driver airbag, passenger airbag, side airbags, curtain airbags, remote control central locking with deadlocks, electric front windows, steering column adjustable for reach and rake, radio/single CD player, passenger/driver seat height adjustment, ABS and EBFD and EBA, trip computer, front fog-lights, body coloured door mirrors and door handles, air-conditioning and the fabulous Cielo panoramic roof.
The SX version adds body coloured bumpers and mouldings, driver’s knee airbag, leather trimmed steering wheel, front centre armrest, child’s locks, rear electric windows, cruise control and speed limiter, RD4 radio CD MP3 player and 17” alloy wheels. The SV version gains automatic lights and wipers, air conditioning with climate control and 16” alloy wheels.
The 308 SW is available with two engine options - one petrol and one HDi diesel. The petrol engine is a 1.61 120bhp 5-speed manual. The diesel engine is a 1.6 HDi 110bhp 6-speed manual fitted with a diesel particulate filter system (FAP).
As with the 308 hatchback, the 308 SW also benefits from the fitment of Michelin Energy Saver Tyres. These tyres reduce the rolling resistance of the vehicle by 20 per cent and will be fitted to the HDi 110 version.
This technology also improves the vehicle’s overall environmental efficiency. It allows a reduction of 5 g/km of CO2 which corresponds to a reduction of around one tonne of CO2 during the life of the vehicle. All engines meet the current Euro 4 emission standards.
Mark O’Connell, Peugeot sales and marketing director said: “The new Peugeot 308 SW is a worthy successor to the popular 307 SW. With the 308 SW, Peugeot has drawn on the key strengths found in 307 SW and blended in all the right ingredients to appeal to a customer base that leads a full and busy life and who appreciate the space and versatility of their vehicle. Our sales forecast for 2009 is to reach 400 units.”
