IRISH Leeds United supporters are in for a treat on Saturday when two first team players, a club legend and members of the Elland Road coaching staff arrive in Dublin to meet fans.
First choice goalkeeper Andy Lonergan, Scottish International Ross McCormack, and former striker and Leeds Director Peter Lorimer will be joined by coaches Ian ‘Dusty’ Miller and Glynn Snodin for an official ‘Leeds on the Road’ event at the North Star Hotel, Amiens Street, on Saturday, November 12. Tickets will cost €10.
The five Leeds men will spend the evening giving fans a rare, first hand insight into the club, answering questions from the floor, signing autographs and posing for photos.
They’re being brought over to Ireland by Dublin Leeds United Members Club (LUMC), an official international members’ club affiliated to the legendary Yorkshire based football team.
It’s the latest in a string of visits to Ireland by Leeds players, former players and club officials and Dublin LUMC Chairman, Noel Rice, says fans are delighted to have an opportunity to hear about the club from those who know it best.
“These Leeds Legends nights have been extremely popular and are building an incredible Leeds following as fans that have attended previous nights will confirm,” he added.
Previous guests at Leeds on the Road events have included club chairman Ken Bates and his wife Susannah as well as several former players such as Johnny Giles, Peter Lorimer, Eddie Gray, Norman Hunter, Paul Reaney and Gary McAllister.
Dublin LUMC secretary, David Meier, says the night promises to be an evening of top class entertainment for Irish Leeds fans and anybody with an interest in football.
“It’s great for the fans to meet the players and coaching staff, this is what it’s all about, being part of the world’s greatest team,” he said.
